Shell Guisado

In my native dialect (Ilocano) we call this shell "Kulintipay".  We simply cook it "guisado" style.  

Cooking Instructions for Shell Guisado


1 kilo kulintipay shells
1 small piece ginger
5 cloves garlic
1 pc medium onion
1 medium tomato
1 tbsp fish sauce

How To Cook:

  1. Fry ginger, garlic, onion and tomato
  2. Add the shells 
  3. Add little water and fish sauce
  4. Stir and cover the pan
  5. Turn off the heat once the shells start to open and serve
Serving size: 4-6

Tip:  Almost all variety of shells can be cooked in the same way
